Do I plant a garden? Do I plant a tree? Do I buy oreos or more potatoes? Do I make another blog post or more candles? Do I teach my children skip counting or wilderness survival?
I've prayed and attempted to make good between me and YHWH. I hold fast to the blood of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah) and to the word of YHWH.
I've prepped as much as my budget and knowledge allowed. I have some rice and beans and bandaids.
I've told my family and friends to do the same.
But I feel....
SO unprepared.
Maybe, no matter what we did to prepare, we would feel this way.
We have ideas what the future may hold.
Daniel 7:21-22 says, “I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom."
And in Matthew 24:15-22, Yeshua says, “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened."
Revelations 6 speaks of war, famine, and the number of saints to be killed.
And of course, there are many verses in the bible with other similar portents for the end of days.
It sounds awful.
It sounds terrifying.
It sounds like we may be tested like never before, lose everything we love and hold dear and may even die before it ends.
But fortunately, it does end.
And then those who remain faithful to the end will have the peace that ONLY He can bring.
James 5:11 says,
"Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful."
And Revelations 2:10
"Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life."
So, as Revelations 22:20-21 says,
"He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Adonai Yeshua!
The grace of our Adonai Yeshua Ha'Mashiach be with you all. Amen."
