A Great Flame

Isaiah 43:2
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

James 3:5-6
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

We may not be thrown into the fire like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. We may have our own 'flames' to walk thru. If you are following hard after YHWH and the Messiah Yahshua Jesus you are going to have trials. You are going to be hated. You are going to be raked thru coals. You are going to be slander.

Keep your eyes and heart on on your King and you will find those flames don't mean a thing.

Be strong and courageous.

Daniel 3:17-18
If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

The Armor of Elohim Examined

The Armor of Elohim Examined

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;
and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
Eph 6:11-18

The Belt of Truth

Psa 119:160 The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.
Jhn 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.
GIRD YOURSELF ALL AROUND WITH THE WORD OF TRUTH

The Breastplate of Righteousness

Deu 4:8 And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today?
Psa 5:8 Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me.
Psa 119:142 Your righteousness is righteous forever, and your law is true.
Isa 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
COVER YOURSELF WITH HIS DEFINED RIGHTEOUSNESS

The Gospel of Peace

Lev 19:18 You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.
Deu 6:5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
Psa 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Isa 30:21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.
Mat 22:36-40 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
WALK IN THE PATH OF PEACE TOWARDS GOD AND MAN

The Shield of Faith

Psa 119:138 Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful.
Hab 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Jas 2:17-26 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
SHIELD YOURSELF BY WALKING OUT YOUR FAITH
The Helmet of Salvation

Gen 24:65 For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself.
Psa 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Pro 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Mat 7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
Mat 8:9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Mar 13:34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
Rom 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
1Co 11:3-12 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
PUT ON AND WALK UNDER THE SYMBOL OF HIS AUTHORITY

The Sword of the Spirit, The Word of God

Pro 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Luk 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Jhn 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
HEAR AND DO THE WORD OF GOD, PUTTING TO DEATH THE FLESH, GIVING BIRTH TO THE SPIRIT

My Thoughts on Weekly Bible Reading ~ Genesis 12-18 Abraham and YHWH

YHWH calls whom He chooses.  He looked down upon the earth and chose Abram, from the city of Ur of Chaldea, an area also known as Sumeria.  YHWH says to him....

"Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred,
and from thy father's house,
unto a land that I will show thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation,
and I will bless thee,
and make thy name great;
and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee,
and curse him that curseth thee:
and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."
Genesis 12:1-3

And Abram does.  He packs up his wife and heads out.  He lives in tents in the wilderness, amidst his flocks and the servants (whom we learn later LOVE Abram and choose to follow him even with death on the line).  And YHWH blessed him and all he had.  His flocks multiplied, his wealth multiplied, they were healthy and secure.  Whenever someone did attack him and take from him, Abram was given great victory.  He regained ALL his belongings and the people that belonged to his household.  He also gained an enormous amount of loot above and beyond what was taken from him.

We know for some time though, Abram and Sarai had heaviness in their hearts regarding a child.  While they were blessed greatly.... with no child of his own, what did it matter?  In just a matter of years, Abram's name and fortune would be lost to the wind because he had no heir.

In chapter 17 YHWH changes Abram's name to Abraham, Father of Many Nations.  And YHWH tells him that Ishmael, who is not the son of his wife, is NOT going to be his heir.

But that is about to change....

In Chapter 18 Verse 1 we read..... "And YHWH appeared to him..."

Who is this 'man'?

Why He is none other than Yahshua!!!  Recall His 'shem', the Hebrew word meaning Name and Reputation.

Yahshua IS
  The Son of Adam
  The Son of Man
  The Word made Flesh
  The Light of the World

And as He said of Himself in John 8:58, "Yahshua said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM."

Is this the only time that He appears before men in the Old Testament?  NO!

Daniel also saw Him face to face in Daniel 10:5-6.  Note the description of this man compared to Revelation 1:13-15.

Eyes of Flame
White Robe with Gold Sash
Bronze or Copper colored skin
Voice as mighty waters or a multitude

But his appearance to Abraham was not so.  He appeared... just as a man, much as he appeared to Jacob in Genesis 32:25-30.  Of course Abraham still recognized this visitor, by the authority of His conduct.  He graciously accepted to sit and sup with Abraham.  And immediately promised that Sarah would bare a son within a year.

I Love Yahshua

I love Yahshua!

He saved me. Not just by dying on a cross for my sin. Not just by taking the curse and allowing us to be remarried to him.

He saved me by protecting my life and my heart in an abusive home.
He saved me by banishing a nightmare that followed me even in my waking hours.
He saved me by the small whispered voice to not give up when I couldn't find Him. Oh how I looked in the wrong places!

He saved me when I did give up and planned to commit suicide. He said, "You have lived all this time for you. Live now for me." What could I lose? I certainly didn't know what I would gain.
I accepted.

He gave me my true love, Aaron, after I thought there was no possibility of our reunion.
He gave me my beautiful, vibrant children when the Dr told me I would never bear a child.

Every battle I have faced since I accepted, embraced, covenanted with Him, He has been there. Every struggle put before Him, He fixes

He rebukes my sin. He pulls me to know Him better. He teaches and leads me to be the best wife and mother and daughter of YHWH that I can be daily.

I love Yahshua.

If you don't know Him, I will gladly tell you about Him all day long. Or better yet, get to know Him yourself. And when he says, "Live for me." Take it. With both hands. You will never regret it.

if they speak not according to this word,
it is because there is no light in them.

Revelation 12:17
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman,
and went to make war with the remnant of her seed,
which keep the commandments of God,
