Hanukkah - Cleaning Out Our Temples, Day 1

Have a blessed Feast of Dedication!!

Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.
Psalm 51:6

In this season of cleaning, scouring and rededication... What are we cleaning?? We aren't cleaning the outside, the appearance of cleanness won't cut it. We are looking at the INWARD parts. Because we will stand before His Holy throne for judgement one day.

I want to hear, "Well done faithful servant."

For God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
1 Samuel 16:7b

"I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.
Jeremiah 17:10

O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
Psalm 139:1

Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.
Psalm 44:21

Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness."
Luke 11:39

Remember WE are the church. And we NEED to be cleaning ourselves, our homes, and our fellowships. Do not let the enemy have any ground.

First, we start by looking at ourself. We cannot see, and have no integrity telling others to clean up their lives, when we are walking in and harboring sin.

"Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."
Matthew 7:5

Second, we must guard and clean our homes. Our marriages, our children, anyone in our care must be carefully guarded over. We cannot gain more territory if we are losing our home ground. We cannot grow the family of YHWH if we are throwing aside our God given responsibility in our family.

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
1 Timothy 5:8

Third, we must righteously judge and root out evil in the midst of the assembly. The enemy cannot be allowed to speak freely in our fellowships. Leading the youth, private counselors, music ministries, various prayer groups. These are wonderful things when led by the spirit of YHWH and constrained by His law. But when the enemy infiltrates it destroys the foundations and starts picking off our members unchecked.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Ephesians 5:11

I have hated the congregation of evildoers; and will not sit with the wicked.
Psalm 26:5

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter 5:8

Consider this day what sins, including heart sins, are still in each of us individually today. Selfishness, greed, not being a joyful giver, fearful and not trusting. And we need to be truly honest if we are not keeping the law to the best of our abilities. Are we setting aside the Sabbath? Are we wearing our tassels? Are we keeping the feasts? Are we studying the word and taking it in like food and water? Are we praying for YHWHs perspective, wisdom and guidance? Are we seeking His will to be done?

Today, root out YOU. I don't expect we'll finish today. But today I say, I must be cleaned out, I must submit.

I pray you are blessed as you join me in this ongoing process of cleaning and re-dedicating to YHWH our Elohim and the Messiah Yahshua. 💓
