We are all in different situations in our home and family life. Maybe you are young and still live with your parents, or are single and living alone or with friends. Others are married, some with children, some without. Some have extended family living with them. House, apt, bedroom, or car. Your home is your castle.
Do you want the enemy inside your gates?
Are you LETTING the enemy inside your gates?
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7
Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.
1 Peter 5:8-9
Remember that the word said a person who did not care for their family was worse than an unbeliever.
What you allow in your home physically equals what you allow in your home spiritually.
Do not give the devil a foothold.
Ephesians 4:27
Physical Abuses, Drug or Alcohol Abuses, Pornography, Witchcraft and Spiritism.
On the surface we might be able to agree on these, but digging deep we may have more struggles than expected.
Physical Abuses can include hitting, harsh discipline, force, neglect. It can also include yelling and belittling. Is our home a safe and uplifting place?
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.[a] 28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of his body. 31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. 33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
Ephesians 5:22-33
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4
Colossians 3:21
saying, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.”
Exodus 15:26
Pornography while obviously covering 'those sites', magazines, etc, it would also start touching on what TV shows and movies we are watching. It could include 'romance' novels. What view of sexuality is allowed in our homes?
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
1 Corinthians 6:18
Witchcraft and Spiritism can include talismans, yoga, chakra, karma, tarot, ouija, seances, horoscopes, reincarnation. It can also include our tv and movies again, and books, whether factual or just 'non fiction entertainment'. What voices and ideas are allowed to speak into our homes?
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12
These are important considerations we must make in our homes. And while we may have considered them previously and made our decisions, it is ALWAYS a good idea to periodically check them again. How much have we grown in the word since then? How much more have we learned about the character of YHWH since then?
Does our line stand up to scrutiny today?
24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
Matthew 7:24-27
This is not easy.
Unfortunately many of our brothers and sisters in Israel live with nonbelievers. How much more difficult these topics get!!
But do not despair. Regardless of your personal situation, YHWH KNOWS ALL OF IT. And He sees you. And as we discussed before, HE sees deep inside your inner parts, he searches and examines the heart. We must do the best that we can and He will bless and guide us as we continue on.
We will have to keep learning and cleaning until we stand before the throne and all things are made clear.
Until then we must persevere and keep pressing in.
An examination of our pressing and pure oil.

May YHWH richly bless you as you walk on this path of purification for His Glory!
