Is The Rapture Biblical?

Many Christians look forward to the hope of being "taken into the clouds" with Jesus.  But is this biblical?  While it is taught as gospel at many churches, I began to doubt this teaching after a friend of mine spoke with me about it.  He said, "So many people are hoping they will be taken.  So many people are putting all their hope that they will not suffer in the tribulation.  How many will fall away if the Rapture doesn't happen?  How many fair weather Christians will be completely shaken and lose faith?  Seems like it would be a simple lie from the enemy to destroy a large segment of those who call themselves followers of Christ."

Below I include the full text of three segments QuietBuck shares.  There may be some repetition between the three sections, but you will see that there are MANY bible verses that we must test this idea of the Rapture against.

***

Many try to make the point of the rapture from using 1 Thessalonians 4. But if we use Strong’s and other passages we realize what the passage is saying.

1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Master in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Master.

Clouds G3507
the cloud which led the Israelites in the wilderness

Air G109
the air, particularly the lower and denser air as
distinguished from the higher and rarer air

As we can see clouds does not mean puffy clouds in the sky and air does not mean the upper sky either. This is a repeat of Deuteronomy and Exodus where the Pillar of Fire showed up. Those who are “alive and remain” are those who were gathered into the barn in Matthew 13:30.

Matthew 13:30
Let both grow together until the harvest:
and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers,
Gather ye together first the tares,
and bind them in bundles to burn them:
but gather the wheat into my barn.

Here we clearly read that the tares are gathered first to be burned. So if someone thinks they get to get out first. They have been deceived into the lie of the tares.

AND

To those with itching ears of the rapture fable (2Timothy 4:2-4). The following passages clearly state the righteous, the saints, the meek shall remain, never to be removed.

The Living Word cannot contradict itself. The fairy tale is proven a blatant lie by the Living Word of YHWH, the only truth (Psalm 33:4, Psalm 138:2, John 17:17, 1Thess 2:13).

•Proverbs 10:30
The righteous shall never be removed:
but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

•Psalm 37:9
For evildoers shall be cut off:
but those that wait upon YHWH,
they shall inherit the earth.

•John 17:15
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world,
but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

•Matthew 13:30
Let both grow together until the harvest:
and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers,
Gather ye together first the tares,
and bind them in bundles to burn them:
but gather the wheat into my barn.

•Zechariah 13:9
And I will bring the third part through the fire,
and will refine them as silver is refined,
and will try them as gold is tried:
they shall call on my name,
and I will hear them:
I will say, It is my people:
and they shall say, YHWH is my Elohim.

•Psalm 37:11
But the meek shall inherit the earth;
and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

•Matthew 5:5
Blessed are the meek:
for they shall inherit the earth.

•Malachi 4:3
And ye shall tread down the wicked;
for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet
in the day that I shall do this,
saith YHWH of hosts.

•Psalm 37:18
YHWH knoweth the days of the upright:
and their inheritance shall be for ever.

•Proverbs 12:7
The wicked are overthrown, and are not:
but the house of the righteous shall stand.

•Proverbs 29:16
When the wicked are multiplied,
transgression increaseth:
but the righteous shall see their fall.

•Psalm 37:22
For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth;
and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

•Zephaniah 2:3
Seek ye YHWH,
all ye meek of the earth,
which have wrought his judgment;
seek righteousness, seek meekness:
it may be ye shall be hid in the day of YHWH’s anger.

•Psalm 37:34
Wait on YHWH, and keep his way,
and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land:
when the wicked are cut off,
thou shalt see it.

•Ezekiel 13:18-23
And say, Thus saith the Master YHWH;
Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes,
and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls!
Will ye hunt the souls of my people,
and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?
And will ye pollute me among my people
for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread,
to slay the souls that should not die,
and to save the souls alive that should not live,
by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
Wherefore thus saith the Master YHWH;
Behold, I am against your pillows,
wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly,
and I will tear them from your arms,
and will let the souls go,
even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
Your kerchiefs also will I tear,
and deliver my people out of your hand,
and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted;
and ye shall know that I am YHWH.
Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad,
whom I have not made sad;
and strengthened the hands of the wicked,
that he should not return from his wicked way,
by promising him life:
Therefore ye shall see no more vanity,
nor divine divinations:
for I will deliver my people out of your hand:
and ye shall know that I am YHWH.

There are many others as well.

AND

Many go around desiring a rapture, a gathering up stating they leave first.

But does not scripture teach us that those gathered up are the tares? And the tares go first?

•Matthew 13:28-30
He said unto them, An enemy hath done this.
The servants said unto him,
Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
But he said, Nay;
lest while ye gather up the tares,
ye root up also the wheat with them.
Let both grow together until the harvest:
and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers,
Gather ye together first the tares,
and bind them in bundles to burn them:
but gather the wheat into my barn.

•Matthew 13:38-43
The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom;
but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
The enemy that sowed them is the devil;
the harvest is the end of the world;
and the reapers are the angels.
As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire;
so shall it be in the end of this world.
The Son of man shall send forth his angels,
and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend,
and them which do iniquity;
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire:
there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

•Enoch 69:27
And he sat on the throne of his glory,
And the sum of judgement was given unto the Son of Man,
And he caused the sinners to pass away
and be destroyed from off the face of the earth,
And those who have led the world astray.
(be carefull rapture teachers)

•Psalm 37:9
For evildoers shall be cut off:
but those that wait upon YHWH,
they shall inherit the earth.

•Proverbs 10:30
The righteous shall never be removed:
but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
